Public Advisory: 2026 New Year Storm

City of Los Angeles Emergency Alert: The National Weather Service has forecast that a moderate storm will impact the City of Los Angeles beginning Wednesday, December 31st, through Saturday, January 3rd.  The worst of the storm is anticipated from early morning through the afternoon on January 1st. Los Angeles will receive 1-3 inches of rain, with 3-5 inches possible in the mountains and foothills. There is a risk of thunderstorms and debris flow across recent burn scars, where evacuation warnings are in place. Get ready for the storm and take extra precautions during the rain. Impacts in the area could include power outages, debris flows, rapidly rising water in streams and rivers, and flooding on roads and freeways.
