Updated BruinALERT System: Ensure Your Contacts Are Up to Date

Dear Bruin Community:

Today, Friday, Sep. 12, 2025, the Office of Campus & Community Safety launched an update to our BruinALERT emergency notification system to automatically enroll students, faculty and staff with valid information.

UCLA uses BruinALERT to notify students, faculty and staff of a dangerous situation or significant emergency that threatens the health or safety of members of the campus community.

Ensure Your Contacts Are Up to Date

Campus faculty and staff with valid email addresses and mobile phone numbers in UCPath and students with valid email addresses and mobile phone numbers in MyUCLA are automatically enrolled to receive email and text message alerts.

UCLA Health faculty and staff in MedNet with a declared work location in the Westwood area are automatically enrolled to receive email alerts.

It is important to please take a moment to verify your current information on these platforms:

  • Students: add/verify contacts via MyUCLA.
  • Campus Faculty and Staff: add/verify contacts via UCPath.
  • Health Faculty and Staff: add/verify contacts via MedNet.
  • Parents and Community Members: Text ‘BruinALERT’ to 888777 to enroll in SMS text notifications. No charge but Msg & Data rates may apply. Msg freq varies.

You can also register to receive additional emergency alerts for our region:

Thank you for partnering with the Office of Campus & Community Safety to help keep UCLA safe.

We are looking forward to a great year. Go Bruins!
