Update 12/05 @ 9:35 PM: ALL CLEAR. The incident at Sproul Cove has been resolved, and there is no threat to the community. We take all potential threats seriously and act based on credible information to ensure everyone’s safety. During the incident, a subject claimed to have an explosive device and threatened to use it. A thorough investigation determined there was no explosive device. We appreciate the community’s understanding while we worked to ensure a safe resolution.
12/05 @ 8:50 PM. The UCLA Police Department is investigating a reported threat inside Sproul Cove. One person has been detained, and there are no outstanding suspects. Sproul Cove is being evacuated out of an abundance of caution. Please avoid the area until the situation is resolved and refrain from contacting UCLA Police Dispatch for updates. At this time, no injuries have been reported.
