Red Flag Warning Forecasts Extreme Fire Risk for Los Angeles

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a higher-level "Particularly Dangerous Situation" Red Flag Warning for areas surrounding LA City to the north and northeast, including most of Los Angeles County and Ventura County, in effect Monday 12/09 through Wednesday 12/11.

 

Although this warning is not expected to impact UCLA and the Westwood campus, the UCLA Fire Department (UCFD) and Office of Emergency Management (OEM) continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates as needed.

 

Particularly dangerous conditions are expected for the Santa Monica Mountains, San Gabriel Mountains, and San Fernando Valley from 8pm tonight through 2pm Tuesday.  For the latest information from LA City, please visit https://emergency.lacity.gov/updates.
