UCLA’s campus is operating normally, and classes are in session this week as we prepare to celebrate the Inauguration of Chancellor Julio Frenk.
Inauguration marks the official installation of Chancellor Frenk as the leader of our university. This week, he will share a collective vision that will guide UCLA’s future. These milestone events will be available on a livestream, and all are invited to participate during this wonderful time on campus!
The campus community can expect to see an additional security presence and fencing outside Royce Hall to guide ticketed guests who will be attending these events on Wednesday, June 4 and Thursday, June 5.
Classes will continue as scheduled: Dr. Frenk has chosen to prioritize the continuity of our academic mission during the inauguration.
Schedule of events
Several events will be held on campus in celebration of the inauguration.
On Wednesday, June 4, an academic symposium, UCLA Connects: Bruin Talks will be held from 3:30 to 5 p.m. The inauguration ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 5 from 10 a.m. to noon at Royce Hall. Both events will be available on a livestream: to join them and learn more, visit the Chancellor’s Inauguration Website.
The Office of Campus and Community Safety will be monitoring activity on campus, and as always, any important operational changes to campus will be updated here as needed.
